Overview
The PE-3 Tachometer is a stand-alone unit which is housed in a NEMA 4 enclosure. The PE-3 monitors over speed, under speed, zero speed
and at-speed conditions, utilizing a 4-digit display, 4-20 mA output signal and isolated relay outputs for speed condition status.
The PE-3 helps prevent equipment damage and material spoilage via prompt alert for stalled (zero speed) condition. It is particularly
useful for monitoring under speed condition as this often indicates an unwanted increase in load which may indicate that a problem is
about to occur.
Detail
The PE-3 Tachometer uses frequency input from various types of sensors to determine the presence of motion or the lack thereof. When
motion is either detected or reaches setpoint, the relay output changes state. It remains in this state until either under speed or
zero speed condition occurs (depending upon application). The 4-20mA analog output signal is proportional to speed. Visual speed
indication via 4 digit LED display.
