| Magnetic Disk for Zero Speed Switch Systems Home Page> Products> Magnetic Disk ZSS Introduction The Zero Speed Switch Sensor and Magnetic Disk are paired per application for the best relay response time. For most applications, relay response times range from fractions of a second to approximately four seconds. Description Magnets are the Zero Speed Switch Sensor target, which are attached at the point of measure. The magnets are mounted in a disk that we refer to as the Magnetic Disk to simplify installation. Individual magnets are available and can be installed instead of a Magnetic Disk, if preferred. As the Magnetic Disk rotates, the magnets are detected by the Zero Speed Switch Sensor as a series of pulses which are used to calculate speed and the presence of motion. Magnetic Disk Types for Sensor Orientation The sensor orientation in relation to the Magnetic Disk can be either Axial or Radial. Please specify when ordering. |

Securing the Magnetic Disk There are 3 ways to secure Magnetic Disks at the point of measure. Please specify when ordering. 1) Bolt to the end of a shaft. 2) Slide over the shaft, secured with two set screws. 3) Clamp around a shaft using a split Magnetic Disk, secured with two set screws. Set screws are cupped and knurled. Magnetic Disks are keyed upon request. Magnetic Disk Size Standard sizes are 2", 3", 4", 5", and 6" Outer Diameter (O.D.), 7/8" thick. Magnetic Disks used for slower speeds are typically 3" O.D., 1/4"-1/2" thick and are secured by a 1/4" bolt to end of shaft. Custom sizes are available. Magnetic Disk Material Standard Magnetic Disks are aluminum. For corrosive environments, Delrin is available. Disk Availability Most Magnetic Disks are custom made per application. Delivery is typically one week. Magnetic Disks in Stock for Zero Speed Switch Systems
