Magnetic Disk for Tachometer System
Home Page> Products> Magnetic Disk Tachometer

Introduction
The Tachometer and Magnetic Disk are paired for the best system performance.

Description
Magnets are the Hall-Effect Sensor Target, which are attached at the point of measure. To simplify installation, the magnets are mounted in a disk that we refer to as the Magnetic Disk. Individual magnets are available and can be installed instead of a Magnetic Disk, if preferred. As the Magnetic Disk rotates, the magnets are detected by the Tachometer Sensor as a series of pulses which are used to calculate RPM, FPH, etc.

Magnetic Disk Types for Sensor Orientation
The sensor orientation in relation to Magnetic Disk can be either Axial or Radial. Please specify when ordering.

Securing the Magnetic Disk
There are 3 ways to secure Magnetic Disks at the point of measure. Please specify when ordering.

1) Bolt to the end of a shaft.
2) Slide over the shaft, secured with two set screws.
3) Clamp around a shaft using a split disk or coupling, secured with two set screws.

Set screws are cupped and knurled. Magnetic Disks are keyed upon request.

Magnetic Disk Size
Standard sizes are 2", 3", 4", 5" and 6" O.D., 7/8" thick.

Custom sizes are available.

Magnetic Disk Material
Standard Magnetic Disks are aluminum.

For corrosive environments, Delrin is available.

Ordering Information
When ordering, please specify the following:
